The MSc in Industrial and Organizational Psychology is a program which is designed for recent graduates with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in any field who aspire to a broad range of career opportunities in business, industry, public administration, consultancy, and other organizations. There is no requirement for professional work experience following the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification). Applicants who have successfully completed the CASS Europe GDBM are eligible for admission with advanced credit in some of the core modules of the program.

The objective of the program is to provide students with the essential functional and managerial expertise and to develop the skills they’ll need to understand and shape the many factors and mechanisms at work in an organization. Students will be able to use the practice-oriented expertise and acquire the skills that are relevant in successfully managing a modern organization.

Upon successful completion of the program student will be able to:

Acquire fundamental knowledge of psychology as a discipline. This will include: knowledge of both the history and current developments of the field, its theoretical and methodological perspectives, its professional practice, and so on.
Become proficient academic researchers in the field of psychology. This will involve becoming skillful in developing theoretical and conceptual frameworks as well as methodologies for undertaking rigorous academic research in the field. Students will also become proficient in developing testable hypotheses, research design, methods of data collection and data analysis, interpreting the analyzed data and drawing conclusions. This will necessarily include both classroom didactic training and conducting empirically based thesis research.
Be proficient in the domains that are core to Industrial/Organizational (I-O) Psychology, which include: 1. ethical, legal, and professional contexts, 2. measurement of individual differences, 3. criterion theory and development, 4. job and task analysis, 5. employee selection, 6. performance appraisal, 7. training and development, 8. work motivation, and 9. attitude theories.

Be knowledgeable in the practice of Industrial/Organizational Psychology by applying relevant concepts and theories to study practical I-O issues in a modern organization.
Acquire skills in qualitative and quantitative research methodology and apply these in successfully carrying out a major piece of research leading to the MSc I-O Psychology thesis.
