The master's degree in "Molecular and Cellular Biology" provides you with technical and methodological training in sub-areas of biology with a focus on molecular and cell biology. In the first year, you will be imparted basic knowledge that is subject-specific and professional in character. The second year serves to deepen acquired specialist knowledge and to familiarize yourself with the topic of the six-month master's thesis.
The course is research-oriented. Accordingly, the training takes place in an active research environment, which in Marburg is characterized by international collaborations, special research areas and research alliances, graduate colleagues, as well as close cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology.

With the appropriate orientation, it is also possible to take the step into self-employment. Successful completion of the master’s degree qualifies for a doctorate.
